Fastbreak NYC presents 2009-10 Charity Fantasy Basketball
$150 entry, $1000 Grand Prize, $300 2nd prize plus lots of giveaways
Fastbreak NYC Fantasy Basketball is back. This year, we're going all out, offering the biggest cash prize we've ever done. $1000 to the winner, $300 to 2nd place and $150 to 3rd place. $250 will be donated to the charity of the winner's choice. Prizes will also go to notable achievements such as best regular season record and least transactions made, etc.
The league will be limited to 12 teams. If more than 12 teams apply, there will be a lottery to select who is in (with weight given to earlier registrants). If there are enough teams for two leagues, we will do two leagues. We will also consider a lower stakes league if there is enough interest.

The LIVE ONLINE DRAFT PARTY will be on TUESDAY, OCT. 27 @ FAT CAT BILLIARDS (75 Christopher St. @ 7th Ave). Draft time will be 8:30pm. Bring your laptop, there's plenty of beers on tap and sake if your wish. Live jazz, ping pong and pool, you can't find this combo anywhere else.
Former winners of the FBNYC Charity Fantasy Basketball league are William Wang (The Animals) and Alvin Wang (Nvr Gonna Give You Up). They are not brothers.

MLK HS, NYC -- Theoretically, the Swagganauts won at least a moral victory but they won't feel that way this week. (F) Dave Liu (12 pts, 7 rebs) and SWA walked away from this one feeling like the Fury had stolen it and quite literally, they had.A see-saw game throughout, SWA entered the 4th quarter with NYF ahead by a slight 37-36 margin. The Fury, however, seemed to take control in the 4th quarter as (F) Young Yu (13 pts) and rookie (G) Jon Giacobbe (6 rebs, 4 asts) hit timely shot after shot. But after a solid stint last week, (F) Derrick Tyson (16 pts, 9 rebs, 7 stls), recently added to the permanent roster, wouldn't let the game slip away.(more...)
