RECREATIONAL division... like the "C" league... prices may vary for each league but the REC division is currently a flat rate of $1600/team... we're not doing the ref fee thing per week anymore... pain in the ass.

The 2K9 FALL season will be starting on Sept. 26th.
REC DIVISIONS: We will have (2) REC divisions, one on Saturdays and one on Sundays. The Saturday REC division will be slightly stronger.
RED LEAGUE: The RED league will also be back on Saturdays though there will be no restrictions on impact players. Each team will be allowed (2) non-Asian players. Essentially, it's the new "A" league.
FLAG FOOTBALL: We also potentially have flag football on Saturdays on 204th street. It's far but if teams are down to play we'll make the trek and do it up Fastbreak style with stats, videos and the whole shebang.
E-mail Ren Hsieh (ren@fastbreaknyc.com) with any additional questions.

There is a free screening tonight (5/18) of "Transcending: The Wat Misaka Story" for Asian Heritage Month...
7:00pm @ Tribeca Cinemas
54 Varick St., Manhattan, NY
Wat Misaka was the first person of color to be drafted to the NBA. A Nissei born, raised and still living in Utah, he was the first ever draft pick of the New York Knicks in 1947. Overcoming the national political climate during World War II, Wat was a star player for the University of Utah 1944 and 1947 championship teams, taking 2 years off in between to serve in the U.S. Army. His perseverance and loyalty to his teammates, other Nissei friends (including those interned at Topaz) and his family are a testament to the unflappable Japanese American spirit.
