2K11 SUM Weekly Player Awards (Week 7)FBNYC, 8.3.11
N. Harrington (UNA)
C | 6-8 | 225 lbs
Week 7 Stats
PPG: 36.0
RPG: 16.0
SPG: 1.0

Harrington gets the rare PoW in the loss because the numbers are just too gaudy to ignore. It is hard to imagine where UNA would be without him. Even with just one win, Harrington has made sure his team has been competitive every game.

Runner-Up: Paul Flowers (MNK) 19 ppg, 7 rpg, 5 spg
Ant. Hunter (PIF)
G | 6-0 | 185 lbs
Week 7 Stats
PPG: 21.5
RPG: 4.5
APG: 2.5

Hunter finished his first game of the week with a career-high 23 pts, helping to lead his PIF squad to their 3rd win in 4 gms. Unfortunately, his 20 pts in the second game wasn't enough to lift Paid in Full over the Turtles in a hotly contested battle.

Runner-Up: Troy Talbot (TUR) 18 pts, 6 reb, 5 ast
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Will Halie (NYF) 10 pts, 12 reb, 2 stl

Halie has struggled a bit this season after being a regular  Sam Lo in the 2K10 WIN season. He's back with a tough double-double.

Runner-Up: Eldridge Bracey (PIF) 7 rpg, 2.5 bpg
Defensive Player of the Week

Paul Flowers (MNK) 7 rpg, 5 spg

In two games this week, Flowers ran off with 10 total steals, both in wins as his escalating play has been a major reason MNK is undefeated.

Runner-Up: Brian O'Neill (GOD) 2 stls, 4 blks
The High-5 Club

Kareem Corprew (TUR) 11-8-1-1-1
Paul Flowers (MNK) 12-8-2-4-2

Nick Mui (MNK) 8-6-5-1-1
Will Smallwood (PIF) 10-1-3-2-1

Discorama Rookie of the Week

Paul Flowers (MNK) 19 ppg, 7 rpg

Flowers has been a huge impact for MNK along with (F) Tony Hu as two of the Kings' new additions. There is no player more versatile.

Runner-Up: John Quintana (PLC) 24 pts, 6 3FGs
The "John Starks" Award

Mike Chan (MNK) | 1-8 FGs (.125)

Ouch. The veteran Chan had been putting up a solid season but this is the rare off-shooting performance. it's okay, the Kings still won.

Dishonorable Mention: BJ Grant (UNA) 4-16 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

Joe Vines (MNK) | 3-6 FTs (.500)

The Kings' big forward is just about a career 57% FT shooter so this isn't that far off but that doesn't make it any prettier.

Dishonorable Mention: Steven Rivera (PLC) 1-4 FTs

2K11 SUM Power RankingsFBNYC, 7.28.11
Monkey Kings number one with a bullet

The Kings have risen quickly to the top of the ranks as the league's only undefeated team

Things have taken a surprising turn. With two straight losses from the Deatheaters, it looked like Peoplez Choice was poised to jump right into the no. 1 spot. But then the Monkey Kings jumped rcame and stole it. They haven't lost a game and have seen some tests. The front-court of (F) Tony Hu and (F) Joe Vines anchors the team and (G) Nick Mui helms. Wings like rookies (F) Paul Flowers and (F) Andray Ukhano along with vets (G) Mike Chan and (G) Kevin Quach have made this one of the league's deepest teams--and now, the one to beat.  -- FBNYC

1.

MNK

(4-0)

The Monkey Kings are now undefeated and have now unseated GOD as the team to beat. They have solid bigs, they have athletic wings and a dynamic PG in (G) Nick Mui. But even if he struggles, the Kings frontcourt brings plenty of firepower.
=

2.

PLC

(3-1)

They just find a way to keep on winning, even pulling out a win in Week 6 without sharsphooter (G) John Quintana. They lost big (F) Nate Igbowu for the season but if (C) Danny Manning is a permanent addition, they didn't lose any size.
-2

3.

GOD

(3-2)

This makes two losses in a row and suddenly the early season favorite appears to have some significant weaknesses despite (G) Garrett James and (G) Kash Miah playing well. (F) Brian O'Neill needs to play more games.
-1

4.

NYF

(2-2)

The Fury played short-handed and were handed a blowout loss to an improving PIF team. Looks like a little bit of championship let down settling in. (G) Joe Kim leads the league in assists but they need him to score more.
-1

5.

TUR

(2-3)

Despite some inconsistency, the Turtles are still right in the thick of things. With a big like (F) Kareem Corprew anchoring the paint and (G) Marlon Santos improving each game, they will be a tough team to beat in the post-season.
+1

6.

PIF

(2-3)

Last season's finalists had a rough start but they've won 2 of 3 and look better with each game. (F) Rahmel Miller and (G) Antonio Hunter have been solid all season with (F) Eldridge Bracey and (G) Will Smallwood coming on recently.
-1

7.

BLB

(2-3)

After a solid start, BLB has fallen off a bit but a win in Week 6 brings back some hope. They have some viable offensive weapons in (F) Pascal Dabel and (G) Josh Coleman along with a shooter in (G) Karl Gusner. They just need chemistry.
=

8.

UNA

(1-5)

Even with a bg time win over previously no. 1 Deatheaters who have no excuse, moving up is going to be tough in this league. United Nations needs one more solid win for consideration but (F) Nick Harrington is a machine.
This probably goes without saying but none of this is meant to be taken too seriously. Play on, players.

Observations... There's just no telling, any team could beat any other... this season is heads and shoulders tougher than the last... time for some nicknames... Nick Harrington offered "Smoove" as a nickname... we offer up Nick "the Slick" Harrington...Andray Ukhano is aka "The Cosmonaut"... and Dennis Blanchette is, of course, aka "the Menace"

2K11 SUM Weekly Player Awards (Week 6)FBNYC, 7.28.11
Tony Hu (MNK)
F | 6-3 | 225 lbs
Week 6 Stats
PPG: 22.0
RPG: 5.0
BPG: 1.0

The MNK lineup hasn't changed much from last season except to add Hu. He's not the biggest fastest or the quickest, he just knows how to win. There is no one in the BLUE tougher than Hu and anyone who's played him knows this.

Runner-Up: Wil Williams (PLC) 17 pts, 13 reb, 1 ast
Rahmel Miller (PIF)
F | 6-5 | 195 lbs
Week 6 Stats
PPG: 18.0
RPG: 5.0
SPG: 1.0

It was a team effort but Miller has been the motor behind the squad this whole season. This is well deserved as there are few players as competitive as Miller. The result was a blowout win against the team that beat them in the SPR chip.

Runner-Up: Karl Gusner (BLB) 18 pts, 3 3FGs, 3 ast
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Will Smallwood (PIF) 11 reb, 2 stl

Smallwood has had his ups and downs this season but he came up big with a double-double in a blowout win over defending champion NYF.

Runner-Up: Eldridge Bracey (PIF) 10 pts, 12 reb
Defensive Player of the Week

Ju Ju Mansour (PLC) 3 reb, 4 stls

Mansour didn't shoot well for PLC but he made up for it with his usual crafty defense. He finished with 4 stls to preserve the win.

Runner-Up: Will Smallwood (PIF) 11 reb, 2 stl, 1 blk
The High-5 Club

Steven Rivera (PLC) 16-8-2-1-1

Only one this week?

Discorama Rookie of the Week

Karl Gusner (BLB) 18 pts, 3 ast, 1 stl

Gusner didn't shoot very well but the gunner did make 3-5 from the 3-pt line to help his team improve to a 2-3 record. He is BLB's marksman.

Runner-Up: Wil Williams (PLC) 17 pts, 13 reb, 1 ast
The "John Starks" Award

Ant. Hunter (PIF) | 6-22 FGs (.273)

It came in blowout win so it doesn't really matter but it does make it worse. Points come easier in blowout W's. Hunter made it a tough 16 pts.

Dishonorable Mention: J. Mansour (PLC) 5-16 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

Kash Miah (GOD) | 1-4 FTs (.250)

This is perhaps the premier shooter in the league and in a game decided by just 2 pts, you know he's getting the nod. 1-4 FTs just wasn't enough.

Dishonorable Mention: Ezra Hoover (NYF) 1-6 FTs
