the first prop bet: most field goals made (either twos or threes) in a game.
the catch: a player must consume one alcoholic beverage after each made basket.
the wager: all the losers chip in the the one winner's league fees next season.

I say, whoever posts these predictions along with the spreads, should take bets on the games, and we can all take fastbreaknyc to a whole new level.....
ditto
Oct 25 2007 10:26 AM
or at least present your results like "Schedule" does, where you show your record ATS (against the spread) and straight up.
3-2 straight up
2-3 ATS
A Wang
Oct 25 2007 10:12 AM
No, I have to agree with that. You can't offer up scores if you're not going to work off the spread. Otherwise you may as well just post who you think will win.
re:dude
Oct 25 2007 1:03 AM
so if you say +15 and they only win by 1, you still get a W?? i mean...+15 is a big win, +1 is a close game...if you predict +15 and result is +1..i'd say you lose...or you don't deserve the whole win...
fine, you can have 2.5-2 but not 3-2
re:dude
Oct 25 2007 12:46 AM
I had not intended for the anticipated margin of victory to work the same way a "spread" would. It was simply a way to avoid conjuring scores in the dark. When the Pro puts up a score for example like rts 45 superbad 38, he is anticipating a margin of victory by 7 points. It isnt a spread. SO there... i stand at 3-2.
Schedule

Last Week
---------
Straight Up 5-0
Spread 4-1
my 2 cents for the week.
Filthy McLovin (35) vs Reservoir Dogs (42)
Harry impressed me two weeks ago against Jersey Rack. He'll have a tougher time repeating his performance against Youn but he'll still get his double-double. Unfortunately for RDogs, Youn will put up better numbers. Take Youn and Harry out of the picture and RDog team outscores Filthy 20-13. Teams win games and that holds true here.
GOD (54) vs HOP (49)
The battle of the 3 letter acronyms. Death trumps Pain. w/o YY, it'll be an uphill battle for HOP. Still KP has heart and will keep this game close.
The Fighting Yorkies (42) vs InitialD (52)
This will be a tougher match up than InitialD expected. If a full TFY squad show ups, this "could" be an upset in the making. Key word is "could". Close at the half, InitialD wins going away with solid team play.
Street Dreams (44) vs Reign (54)
Street Dreams must do better than their avg of 5/18 from 3 seeing how they do not typically out rebound their opponents. Reign out rebounds their opponents by more than 10+ a game. Street Dreams as a team better shoot 50% from the land of 3.
RTS (45) vs Superbad (40)
Unless the full RTS squad shows up, this game will be up for grabs until the very end. Luckily for RTS, Superbad shoots a pitiful 41% from the line. RTS has made more FT's (43) than Superbad has attempted (39).
Don't see any upsets this week though
InitialD and Reign will have tougher than expected match ups.
My prediction for champion this year in order of probability:
1) Reign
2) Jersey Rack
3) InitialD
4) RTS
5) GOD
6) HOP
dude
Oct 24 2007 9:51 PM
Stan VG was right, you didn't meet the spread, that makes you 2-3, not 3-2. You can't make crazy spreads like +15 and claim a win if you don't cover the spread. Don't make a spread if you are not going to support it..

Last week (3-2)
Running Record (3-2)
FML (+ .01) vs. RVD
Something in my gut tells me its gonna be RVD because Harry Lee is gonna have another Clarence Weatherspoon-esque 15 and 15 game. Plus hes gonna get atleast a little help from Kwan on the outside. HOWEVER, I’m gonna go against my instincts and trust in the gut… I mean juggs. He came off such a sour performance last week that he actually apologized via the postings. He’ll get it right this time around. But just for the record Youn, you mess this one up and I trust in you no more!
GOD (+12) vs. HOP
HOP cannot stop the landslide. YY is doing his best to dig them out but this week Californication comes first and that means KP3 by his lonesome against Rony Donny, the comish and…. now battier?? This one is easy.
TFY vs. Ini-D (+5)
They are both coming off impressive victories, but Ini-D just does it so naturally. Umm and they do it so much more often too. I think it will be a close game, but not even the addition of Mark Yiin and the revived Yorkie spirit is gonna stop the D train from movin on up to 6-0.
Street Dreams vs. Reign (+8)
The bright spot is that Kevin is quietly having a potential all-star season. But Street Dreams’ only wins have come against teams with losing records. I don’t need my math tutor to know that 5-0 is not a losing record. The team with the winning record continues to make it “reign”.
RTS (+4) vs. Superbad
Who would have figured that this game would be so important to RTS’ playoff hopes? With an RVD win and RTS loss, it’s a very fine line for the former champs between defending the chip and chipping their reputation (...wtf?) Luckily FML will hold back the Dogs, but if the champs dont get their act together, everyone is gonna get a piece of RTS this season. Moy will be back in the lineup as far as I know but RTS still squeeks it out.

2K7 FALL Conference Players of the Week (Wk 1 & 2)
FBNYC, 10.23.07
C. Stevens (BTR) F | 6-3 | 195 lbs Week 5 Stats PPG: 13.0 RPG: 8.0 BPG: 1.0
Stevens saves the day as BTR struggled to keep up with the athletic Clock Blockers in the 1st half of their game. Pogo's athleticism was the difference in the 2nd half. He also made a huge difference in their Wk 1 win vs. the Fury Blue.
The Commish kept his team running and gunning against a much bigger Fury Blue team that looked by all accounts to be a heavy favorite. Somehow, they squeaked out a win, but he'll tell you first, it was a total team effort.
All FBNYC 2K7 FALL Conference Players of the Week will receive Discorama's LET BALLERS BALL AWARD, good for a little special treatment at the staple West Village record store: 20% off select items at all three convenient locations.

2K7 FALL Week 1 & 2 Recap
FBNYC, 10.22.07
WEEK 1 & 2 RESULTS
Fury Blue (39) v. Below the Rim (46)recap Player of the Game Dave Scheiman (FBE) 13 pts, 4 3FGs, 6 rebs
Below the Rim (60) v. Clock Blockers (48)recap Player of the Game Christian Stevens (BTR) 16 pts, 13 rebs, 2 blks
KENNY "THE JET" LI'S GAME OF THE WEEK
Fury Black (68) v. Fury Blue (65)recap Player of the Game Ren Hsieh (FBK) 21 pts, 8 rebs, 4 asts, 4 stls
It's always fun when the Black plays Blue... this one was the best game so far this short season. Down to the wire, FBE (F) Al Chung justs misses a 3FG to put this into OT. FBK (G) Ren Hsieh shows that persistent is sometimes better than efficient.

not to take away from them btr, but i think we also started to run out of gas. all but 2 of our players had some sort of game before hand. but that should be no excuse and btr did their thing. now excuse me while i go run some laps
btr is good

btr stayed pretty calm even when the cock blockers were winning. but when pogo got in the game, the cock blockers slowly started crumbling.
