|2K10 WIN Championship Preview||FBNYC, 3.18.11|
(1) Paid in Full vs. (2) NYC Fury Black | Sunday (3/20) 4:00pm @ MLK HS
After two weeks out due to some network issues, the BLUE league site is back up. And, just in time for the Chip. We still need to update boxscores and we're working on it. Also, there will be plenty of highlights to come.
PIF SCOUTING REPORT: Paid in Full is defined by their high-energy play. Few teams in this league have ever played with that level of intensity and it has overwhelmed most teams this season. The Fury are one of two that were able to weather the storm and pull it out the win. PIF needs to find a balance between their energy and an ability to execute in the clutch.
FBK SCOUTING REPORT: The upstart Paid in Full have been the surprise team of this season but the Fury Black laid quietly in the fold waiting for their chance. With all the strong, new teams this season, it might be easy to forget they are the defending champs. They have a balanced team and veteran leadership. The chip is there's to lose.
X-FACTOR: PIF rookie (G) Will Smallwood can change the game with his unmatched athleticism. If he can wreak havoc on the boards and in the passing lanes, he'll give his team an advantage. FBK (G) Kash Miah and (G) Roger Redhead are the Fury's knockdown shooters. If they can get it going, they can make PIF's aggressive defense pay. -- Jeff Van Ghandi
||Audacity of Dope
|(G) Jake Choi
5-11, 160 lbs
||(G) Antonio Hunter
6-1, 185 lbs
|Choi has the quickness and speed to get any shot he wants but how well he gets his teammates involved will dictate this game. Hunter is a big guard and a very solid play maker. He can hit some big shots, too.
|(G) Garrett James
5-11, 185 lbs
||(G) Marlon Santos
5-11, 175 lbs
|James has been solid all season on both sides of the ball and he can run the point as well. Santos has been PIF's big shot maker all season making clutch plays down the stretch on offense and defense.
|(G) Shawn D. Reyes
6-2, 180 lbs
||(G) Will Smallwood
6-2, 200 lbs
|Reyes is a defensive maestro and the Fury's heart and soul. He's the one that gets them fired up. Smallwood is a peerless athlete in this league. He plays in only one gear and that's at full speed.
|(F) Mo Ghumman
6-5, 215 lbs
||(F) Rahmel Miller
6-3, 215 lbs
|Ghumman is a veteran rebounder who can knock down the mid-range. Miller has been a dynamic, athletic force all season. He can get it done in a number of ways.
|(C) Ezra Hoover
6-5, 195 lbs
||(C) Eldridge Bracey
6-3, 250 lbs
|Hoover is one of the league's most athletic players. If he can keep from being bullied, he should have success. Kamdang is a veteran bruiser who has some tricks up his sleeve.
(G) Ren Hsieh
(G) Kash Miah
(F) Roger Redhead
(F) Varun Manocha
(G) Terry Gittens
(G) Joe Dumars
(F) C. Johnson
(F) Mike Rustin
(C) F. Jimenez
|The Fury have plenty of skill coming off the bench but may be playing short-handed with out Manocha. What PIF's bench might lack in polish, they make up for all-out energy and hustle. They go all out all the time.
