2K7 SPR Week 6 Power RankingsFBNYC, 5.3.07
Fury Black hold steady to no. 1 spot

DJ does it again... and again... and again

Here we are another week down and only one more to go in the 2K7 SPR regular season. The league has displayed a lot of parity in its abbreviated run, but a couple of teams are starting to hit their stride. Below the Rim has been clicking since they've found a solid inside complement to their dynamic backcourt in (C) Jiang "Just Ice" Yu. And the Fury Black have been cruising on the heels of (F) Darren Jiang since Week 1, except for that one blemish on the record, of course, to rival Fury Blue.

The Blue, the Royals and the Fluctuations could all use a solid win this Saturday to gather some momentum for the playoffs. Any one of these teams could instantly become a contender with a little late season chemistry. And I'm sure B Elite wouldn't mind a win either. --
K.J. Li

KENNY "THE JET" LI's GAME OF THE WEEK
(-7) Fury Blue v. Chivas Royals

The Royals will be without slashing swingman (F) Albert Chung and the status of (G) Phillip Moon is still unclear. But they won't go down without a fight. This is a contest with huge playoff implications. A win for the Fury and they get the (1) seed by way of tie-breaker and a first-round bye in the playoffs. A loss and Chivas gets the bye.

1.

FBK

(5-1)

The Black are rolling but they just might be getting complacent. Run & gun isn't exactly what they say wins championships.

2.

FBE

(4-2)

(F) Chris Youn and the Blues can clinch the ORC with a win this Saturday against the short-handed Royals.
+1

3.

BTR

(3-3)

BTR is looking more dangerous with every game. (G) Jon Scheiman's career season has lifted the Rimmers to contention despite the absence of former-MVP (F) Christian Stevens.
-1

4.

CHR

(3-3)

Chivas was idle this week, but they drop due to Below the Rim's increasingly solid play. This Saturday will be a good chance for CHR's supporting players to step it up.
=

5.

TFS

(3-3)

The Flux went 1-1 for the weekend but still look like a team that could, in all the right conditions, take the title. The trick will be to get more consistent shooting from (F) Punit Menda and (F) Varun Bhartiya.
=

6.

BEL

(0-5)

At this point, (G) Will Lee and the B Elite are looking to play spoiler. They might not have a realistic shot at winning the title, but they're certainly capable of knocking at least one team off come playoff time.

Observations... Will Lee is the Fastbreak Baron Davis... keep that beard comin' papa... how's it possible that DJ has only one block this season... timing, yea, but there's that effort thing, too... points are easy, defense is hard, my MVP plays D... has anyone else noticed that a member of either FBK or FBE leads the league in 10-out-of-12 statistical categories... Pogo has left the building.

2K7 SPR Top Plays of Week 6FBNYC, 5.2.07
These videos ain't even really Top 10s anymore. They're like... some kinda cable reality show... I keep expecting Flavor Flav to come on and pick his wife or somethin' or Xzibit's gonna come out and pimp my moped... anyway, highlights and hangovers! Yeeaah boy! -- K.J. Li

Week 5 Stats
PPG: 32.0
RPG: 18.0
FG%: .706

If this is starting to look familiar, it's because Jiang is on a tear. With (G) Ren Hsieh looking to get him a touch at every turn, DJ is getting plenty of opportunities to put up numbers--and he's delivered.
Jon Scheiman (BTR)
G | 6-2 | 185 lbs

Only one ORC team scheduled this week so BTR lucked out. Nevertheless, (G) Jon Scheiman is more than deserving of the honor with his continuing ability to teeter on the brink of a triple-double every game.
