2K10 SPR Weekly Player Awards (Week 6)FBNYC, 3.24.10
Nick Watson (FAS)
F | 6-3 | 215 lbs
Week 6 Stats
PPG: 18.0
RPG: 13.0
BPG: 2.0

We have to get a thumbnail of this kid, we have a feeling he'll be back. Watson wasn't always stunning this week but a short-handed FAS needed all of his 18 pts, 13 rebs to beat CRB, iced off with another thundering dunk in the final seconds.

Runner-Up: Howard Chu (HYP) 18 pts, 12 rebs, 1 stl
Jake Choi (QIK)
G | 5-11 | 160 lbs
Week 6 Stats
PPG: 22.0
RPG: 5.0
SPG: 3.0

Figures "Jake the Snake" would be an instant impact upon his return to NYC. He did just the same thing last summer for the FBNYC All-Stars touring team. He instantly makes the Quicks a more dynamic team, giving QIK the speed they've lacked.

Runner-Up: Joe Kim (NYF) 17 pts, 3 rebs, 3 asts
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

B. Picone (NYF) 7 rebs, 7 asts, 4 blks

This makes the second week Picone has picked up 4 blks but even better, he dished out a career-high 7 asts with his, "over the top," stylings.

Runner-Up: Mike Ha (FAS) 8 rebs, 3 stls, 1 blk
Defensive Player of the Week

A. Stewart (QIK) 11 rebs, 4 stl, 2 blk

It's looking like it will come down to Stewart or NYF (C) Bryant Picone for the Defensive MVP, they have been alternating here all season.

Runner-Up: Bryant Picone (NYF) 7 rebs, 2 stl, 4 blk
The High-5 Club

Mike Ha (FAS) 10-8-2-2-1
Bryant Picone (NYF) 6-7-7-2-4
Alex Stewart (QIK) 8-11-2-4-2
Nick Watson (FAS) 18-13-3-1-2

Discorama Rookie of the Week

R. Perez (FAS) 16 pts, 3 asts, 1 stl

Perez in his 2nd week on loan from the Dominican professional ranks, put in another solid game for the short-handed Agents.

RU: Mamadou Hanne (HYP) 10 pts, 7 asts, 4 stls
The "John Starks" Award

Mike Chan (CRB) | 0-8 FGs (.000)

Chan arrived late and never got into the groove, a shame for the versatile forward who has impressed for most of the season.

Dishonorable Mention: Nick Mui (AOD) 2-10 FGs

The "Chris Dudley" Award

Dave Liu (HYP) | 1-4 FTs (.250)

It's not that 1-4 is that bad, it's that had he made both FTs at the end of reg, HYP wins. Rough for the young (F) but he's always bounced back.

Dishonorable Mention: Nick Watson (FAS) 3-7 FTs

FBNYC Game of the Week

New addition (G) Jake Choi floats in the tying shot at the buzzer to send the Quicks into OT with the no. 1 ranked Hypebeasts.
Quicks comeback, prevail in OT

MLK HS, NYC -- The Quicks roster has been in a state of change for 3 wks since losing (F) Pat Pilar to a knee injury. They've taken on CRB and FAS in the past two weeks with only 5 and 6 players from the actual roster, both wins. The Hypebeasts have also seen success in the meantime, steamrolling their opponents even without (G) Sam Jenkins.

This week, HYP would have to go without the reigning MVP (G) Ian Yu and Jenkins again. QIK without (G) Dave Wong, (G) Wilson Lew and (C) Ezra Hoover, though new addition (G) Jake Choi got his debut off to hot start, scoring 14 1st half points, leading QIK to a 22-16 1st qtr lead. HYP, led by (F) Mamadou Hanne and (F) Amin Gillespie (more...)

2K10 SPR Game of the Week (Wk 6)FBNYC, 3.19.10

ANALYSIS: Their barn-burner in Wk 2 saw QIK give up a 15-pt 2nd half lead to the current no. 1. They will be looking to correct that mistake but with (F) George Chan back in the line-up, that will be even harder than it was the first time. (F) Mamadou Hanne will fill in for (G) Leon Chu as he rests a pulled hamstring, moving (G) Ian Yu to the point. The move actually gives HYP more length on D. The HYP game hasn't been pretty but it's added up to wins. Conversely, the Quicks have often looked great but have only just bounced back from two straight losses.

X-FACTOR: Hanne continues to play a big role in determining how HYP fares. When he moves the ball quickly and goes all-out on the floor, the Hypebeasts are always in a good position. For the Quicks, they will need someone to step up off the bench. Last week it was (G) Dave Wong who filled in for 19 pts. Who will it be this week?

(G) Wilson Lew

Yu at the point gives HYP a quick guard with a knack of passing through traffic. Lew is still crafty as ever and sharp on the deep ball.

(G) Ren Hsieh

Two prolific shooters in the BLUE right now, Jenkins can fill it up effortlessly while Hsieh brings the extra dimension of solid passing.

(F) Shaun Young

Hanne brings versatility and defense to the floor. Young is Mr. Versatile and may be having his strongest season yet.

(F) Alex Stewart

Chan took a game to get his bearings but now looks as dominant as ever. Stewart is filling in nicely as the QIK's Mr. Do-it-All.

(C) Ezra Hoover

Chu brought the pain last week but struggles against length. Hoover, however, does not usually fare much better against bulky bigs.

BENCH

Even with (G) Leon Chu nursing a hamstring injury, HYP still has a deep bench. The QIK reserves are also solid with signs of life from a new add, after losing (F) Pat Pilar (knee).
