FBNYC Fall 2015 Week 2 Power RankingsFBNYC, 10.21.15

Fall 2015 Premier Division Power Rankings - Week 2
Rank Team Record
Team Notes
1. (N/A)

MWW

(2-0)

Captain (F) Kareem Merrick wasn't playing when he said he'd fix Meta World War's depth issues. This roster is 9-10 deep and solid. Merrick is always a top defender, but newcomers (G) Shamel Arasmo and (C) Kwa Brenya bring more athleticism, not to mention (G) Chaz Thomas. And, of course, they still have the Premier's toughest match-up (F) Stedford McCleod.
2. (N/A)

SIL

(2-0)

The Silverbacks are pretty much a new team as well, with some holdovers from BBR in captain (G) Mike Salerno, (F) Kwame Owusu-Kesse and (C) Max Shillalies. Now, they have plenty of depth, shooting, and more help in the paint. This is the biggest, maybe the most balanced team in the league.
3. (N/A)

SPA

(2-0)

They're never much to look at, but the veteran Spartans are contenders every season. With a commitment to defense. and clutch shooting, they've also added last season's MVP, (F) Joe Vines. That will bolster a front-court that already has 6-7 (C) Jin Hong playing peak defense right now.
4. (N/A)

DYN

(1-1)

Last season's finalists must go on without multi-time MVP (F) Youssef Hulse who has returned to the west coast, but the NY Dynasty are hoping to make up for his loss with more depth. Keeping (F) George O'Garro on the roster is a big piece, and the additions of shooter (G) Michael Reding and beast of a (F) Seamus McKiernan, might just do it.
5. (N/A)

BOO

(0-2)

Boomtown also sports a new look with only captain (G) Josh Puritz and (F) Nate Jones returning. Part-time fill-in (G) David Mintz is also on the roster, full time now. So far, they haven't quite put it together yet with the new personnel, but there are certainly pieces here to make a run.
6. (N/A)

FAS

(0-1)

The free agent team just looked out-matched in their opener, but there is some talent on this roster. (F) Arjun Ohri will have to pull this team together and hopefully find a big man to make a playoff push. They have plenty of guards and shooters, getting a legit big man will make a huge difference.
7. (N/A)

REN

(0-2)

This season has seen a lot of new looks from classic teams, but this one has not worked out so far for the Renegades. Two games and two blowouts means captain (F) Graham Lawrence may need to go back to the drawing board. (F) Eli St. Hilaire has been putting up big #s, but needs help.
8. (N/A)

EAC

(0-1)

It was a modest debut for newbies Eastern Consolidated. They have a solid scorer in (G) Evan Papanastasiou and an athletic paint defender in (C) Jamil Ebo, but they'll need more help to fill in the gaps. Scoring just 27 pts in their opener, a couple of shooters will go a long way.

Pos: G/F Ht: 6-0, Ht: 175 lbs

Now in his 8th season, Armstrong looked as if he were slowing down after DYN's last chip. But obviously, that isn't the case. Armstrong looks like the most fit player in the league right now.

Runner-Up: Stedford McCleod (MWW) 24 pts, 5 reb
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

K. Brenya (MWW) 17 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk

He isn't just tall and lanky, the rookie big man works for his #s, going hard on the offensive glass, and on the defensive end as well.

Runner-Up: Will Haile (DYN) 15 reb, 5 stl, 1 blk
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Jin Hong (SPA) 15 reb, 3 stl, 2 blk

This makes two weeks in a row for the SPA big man. He is dominating the paint right now, and looks about as aggressive as he's ever been.

R-Up: Tyree Williams (FAS) 11 reb, 6 stl, 1 blk

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

Shamel Arasmo (MWW) 23 pts, 8 reb

Arasmo is lightning quick, has range as soon as crosses half-court, and is one of the flashier players in the Premier. Keep an eye on him.

R-Up: Kwa Brenya (MWW) 16 pts, 17 reb, 3 ast
The John Starks Award

Mike Kim (SPA) | 1-13 FGs (.077)

None of us are getting any younger, and the older you get, the more you get these kinda nights where nothing goes right. Just inexplicable really.

Dishonorable Mention: T. DeMarco (FAS) 3-17 FGs
The Chris Dudley Award

Nate Jones (BOO) | 0-4 FTs (.000)

Not a great showing for the veteran and multi-time scoring champion. He scored in single digits for only the 3rd time in 37 career games.

Dishonorable Mention: Jamil Ebo (EAC) 0-4 FTs
