Fall 2014 Premier Division Power Rankings - Week 4
Rank Team Record
Team Notes
1. (=)

BOO

(3-1)

They took a loss in Week 4, but we're not ready to drop them yet. (F) Jake Moreno was not there for the game, and FBN hardly made it a decisive win despite a full roster. This is still the team to beat. For now.
2. (+1)

FBN

(2-1)

The defending champs haven't been convincing so far this season, but what else is new? They trudge through the regular season, then turn it on for the playoffs. But, with a tight 4-gm playoff field, that won't be an easy feat.
3. (-1)

MON

(3-1)

Monstars haven't exactly dominated either, but they have found a way to win games, other than one decisive loss to Boomtown. This is still the Premier's biggest team, and the guard play has improved significantly. The Monstars are a wild card, hard to figure them out.
4. (+2)

BBR

(2-1)

It should be no surprise that Basketball Reasons is moving their way back up the food chain. They're going to need a big night from (F) Will Johnson every night, but he's been up for it so far. (F) John Bedford has been a solid add, but if they can get more hot shooting from (G) Nim Cohen, that would help.
5. (+1)

MBX

(2-2)

MediaBrix hasn't quite hit that hot streak that took them all the way to the Semis last season. The talent is still there, but the scoring is not. Right now, they're on the outside looking in on the playoffs.
6. (-1)

NYK

(2-2)

Spartans took two tough losses by a combined 6 pts, both coming down to a final shot. Both to teams that will vie for the 4th playoff spot. That means they'll have to beat BOO & FBN to have a chance. They have the tools, balanced scoring, but they may need (F) Jin Hong to step up the offense.
7. (=)

WAS

(1-3)

This is a team that should probably be 2-2 right now. Last week's loss was devastating, and puts them on the cusp of elimination. Winning out will give them a chance to make the post-season, but it's no guarantee.
8. (=)

SIN

(0-4)

At this point, Singularity is basically out of the playoff picture. But, they can still build on this team to prep for the next one. And, there's stats, plenty of glorious stats to be gained.
Observations... it's Big Johnson time right now... what is Singularity? ...we don't know but they could use a ringer to finish the season out... which would make it very interesting... Mike Bratton is now aka "Kid Dynamite"... we need more Jin Hong... aka "Korean Air"... Myles Bane Myles Bane Myles Bane... Matija Petrovic is very good but... is that what the Breakers needed?

For the 2nd week in a row, Johnson
dominated the competition. This is consecutive games now that the veteran forward has recorded at least 24 pts & 16 reb. This is a well-earned repeat.

R-Up: Pierre Carras (MON) 20 pts, 11 reb, 1 blk
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Pierre Carras (MON) 20 pts, 11 reb

From the PG spot, Carras not only led his team with 20 pts, but racked up 11 reb for his 2nd career double double. Not bad for a "little" guy.

Runner-Up: Ian Siekman (MON) 12 reb, 1 stl, 2 blk
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Jon Radke (MON) 11 reb, 1 stl, 4 blk

Still one of Premier's biggest players, Radke used that size to help defend the paint in a much needed double OT win over WSH.

Runner-Up: John Bedford (BBR) 8 reb, 4 stl, 1 blk
The High-5 Club

Paul Alshooler (SIN) 17-7-1-2-1
John Bedford (BBR) 14-8-3-4-1
Askia Davis (MBX) 12-7-1-1-2
Will Haile (FBN) 4-11-2-2-1
Youssef Hulse (FBN) 7-8-3-2-1

Ian Siekman (MON) 6-12-2-1-2
Matija Petrovic (FBN) 16-2-1-1-2
Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

J. Bedford (BBR) 14 pts, 8 reb, 4 stl

Bedford won't replace Zack Simmons anytime soon, but he continues to be an impact player for a BBR team that is quickly turning the ship around.

R-Up: Vincent DiForte (SIN) 12 pts, 6 reb, 3 stl
The "John Starks" Award

T. Mahoney (WSH) | 5-22 FGs (.227)

Mahoney ended up leading his team with 14 pts, but he needed 22 FGAs to get there. Not very efficient on any scale. Still, he's their best scorer.

Dishonorable Mention: K. Markovich (BOO) 2-11 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

W. Bullets (WSH) | 5-13 FTs (.385)

In a game decided by 3 pts that saw two overtime periods, these 8 missed FTs sure could have helped the WSH cause. Maybe next time.

Dishonorable Mention: B. Kettering (SIN) 1-4 FTs
