Monstars weren't gonna make the playoffs no matter what happened in the season finale, but getting their first win of the season was a matter of pride. Lemoine did his part and then some.

Runner-Up: Askia Davis (ASN) 19 pts, 7 reb, 3 blk
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Erik Jerrard (MON) 13 reb, 2 stl

Nice to see Jerrard get back into form after appendix surgery saw him miss almost all of the the winter season. He always leaves it all on the floor.

Runner-Up: Gus Gauntlett (BRJ) 6 reb, 5 stl
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Chris Lemoine (MON) 9 reb, 5 blk

Lemoine gets the double-up due to his huge effort on both sides of the ball. His 5 blk is a season-high mark as was his 28 pts.

Runner-Up: Joe Vines (ASN) 9 reb, 3 stl, 1 blk

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

J. Schmidt (MEN) 22 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast

Sc
hmidt only played in 3 games this season, but he really started to find a groove in the last two, putting on some impressive performances.

R-Up: Tyson Hartnett (BRJ) 20 pts, 3 reb, 3 blk
The "Dion Waiters" Award

Salief ??? (BRJ) | 3-16 FG (.188)

We never got his last name, but it's probably for the best. Salief had lots of good looks at the basket, very few of them went in.

Dishonorable Mention: M. Treacy (MEN) 3-12 FGs
The "Hack-a-Dre" Award

Broke Jokes (BRJ) | 9-19 FTs (.474)

Leaving 10 pts in missed FTs on the board in a must-win game to make it to the post-season isn't the way any team wants to go out.

Dishonorable Mention: Ian Yu (ASN) 2-7 FTs

Spring 2015 Week 8 Power RankingsFBNYC, 6.2.15

Spring 2015 Premier Division Power Rankings - Week 8
Rank Team Record
Team Notes
1. (=)

ASN

(6-0)

Ninjas got back on track with another blowout win, they should finish at least the regular season undefeated. Still the deepest, most talented team in the league. They are the favorites going in to the post-season.
2. (+1)

DYN

(5-1)

They don't have a lot of depth, but they do have the talent to compete with ASN head-to-head. (F) George O'Garro has proven able to carry load when needed, which gives DYN a much needed 2nd option after (F) Youssef Hulse.
3. (+5)

BBR

(3-4)

The crazy thing is, Basketball Reasons might not even make the playoffs. They'll have to wait and see how other teams finish. But, no team is playing better than BBR right now. A balanced, physical team, BBR would be a tough match-up for any team in the post-season, if they make it.
4. (-2)

PRS

(4-1)

A big loss to BBR showed some possible cracks in the foundation, but this is still a very talented, if not very deep or big roster. No matter how they finish the season, they're playoff bound.
5. (-1)

SPA

(3-2)

The NYK Spartans have looked good this season, but they'll have to win out to secure a definite playoff spot. (F) Young Song is on a tear, but SPA could use a few more 3FGs made per game.
6. (-1)

BRJ

(3-3)

They have had some mysterious losses, games in which it seemed like they had control. Even with the addition of high-energy sharp-shooter (G) Gus Gauntlett, the Broke Jokes seem to tire down the stretch. They really need (F) Ian Dobbe to fill give them a presence in the paint.
7. (-1)

MWW

(3-3)

This is a veteran team that knows how to win. Making the playoffs is just a win away. And now with (F) Stedford McCleod getting it going, this is a tough team physically. Throw in defensive dynamo (F) Kareerm Merrick, and you have a team built to win in the playoffs.
8. (-1)

MEN

(2-4)

Menergy has a mathematical chance to sneak into the playoffs. They'll have to win their final game of the season first, then see a couple of other teams lose, then hope for the best in tie-breakers.
9. (=)

MON

(0-6)

Rough season for The Monstars, there was always plenty of talent on this roster, but for one reason or another, it just didn't translate to wins. They'll be back to redeem themselves next season.
10. (=)

BOO

(1-6)

This season was also a wash for the defending champs. Star (F) Nate Jones (knee) never did make it back for a game. They had some heart-breaking losses, and never bounced back. But, don't sleep on them next season.
