Boomtown may be on to something now with back-to-back
comfortable wins. Markovich has been a big reason for their success. He has shot well, and the team has fed off his offense.

Runner-Up: Will Haile (FBN) 38 pts, 9 reb, 5 ast
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Paul Alshooler (SIN) 19 reb, 2 blk

Alshooler recorded a career-high 19 reb, topping his previous mark by more than double. His 18 pts also marked a new personal best.

Runner-Up: Askia Davis (MBX) 16 reb, 4 blk
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Y. Hulse (FBN) 9 reb, 2 stl, 6 blk

They didn't get the win, but with only 4 players on the floor, Hulse kept it competitive with his D. A career high 6 blk and plenty more deflections.

Runner-Up: Derek Lu (WAS) 6 reb, 6 stl
The High-5 Club

Nick Cafiero (MON) 14-3-4-1-1

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

J. Bedford (BBR) 10 pts, 6 reb, 3 stl

BBR got pummeled here, but Bedford looks like a big piece of the puzzle. They will need him to replace the now departed Zack Simmons' offense.

Runner-Up: Alex Vetras (SIN) 8 pts, 2 reb, 6 ast

The "John Starks" Award

A. Baird (MON) | 1-12 FGs (.083)

So far, in his first 2 gms, the rookie has not been able to get the shot to fall. He did however make the game clinching FT in their Week 2 win.

Dishonorable Mention: K. Hameed (BBR) 2-14 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

K. Hameed (BBR) | 2-8 FTs (.250)

Hameed appears to biggest player in the league this season, but he had a tough opening night. We suspect he will do much better than this.

Dishonorable Mention: Jon Radke (MON) 4-8 FTs

This one has been a long time coming for the MON shooter. Cafiero came into Premier on the biggest shooting slump you can imagine. This is career-high scoring by more than double.

Runner-Up: Jin Hong (NYK) 15 pts, 12 reb, 3 blk
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Hanz Medard (MON) 10 pts, 18 reb

Medard is short for a center here, but he's got plenty of weight (and heart). Medard uses great position and feet to put up surprising #s in the paint.

Runner-Up: Nate Jones (BOO) 15 pts, 10 reb, 3 stl
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Askia Davis (MBX) 7 reb, 6 blk

In the end, Davis couldn't fend off the much bigger MON front-court, but he is still the best shot-blocker in the league right now.

The High-5 Club

Myles Bane (WAS) 3-3-1-1-2
Brett Heller (BOO) 3-8-2-1-1

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

Vincent DiForte (SIN) 17 pts, 3 3FGs

New franchise Singularity might have lost their opener, but captain DiForte may be their centerpiece with a good looking jumper in his pocket.

Runner-Up: Alex Marinescu (WAS) 11 pts, 8 reb
The "John Starks" Award

Mike Bratton (MBX) | 6-23 FGs (.261)

Bratton had his coming out party last season as he seemed to be lights out in every game. He may be falling back down to earth a little now.

Dishonorable Mention: Akeem Baird (MON) 2-13 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

None.

Adequate, if not entirely impressive, league-wide FT shooting in Week 1. Good (enough) job.

Dishonorable Mention: None worth mentioning
