ANALYSIS: This arguably should have been the match-up in the Chip last season. But, both teams have made significant changes in their rosters, NYF getting back (G) Joe Kim after losing (G) Rommel Dolar and adding rookie (F) Will Cheung. HYP adding (F) Dave Liu and (F) Amin Gillespie from SWA and rookie marksman (G) Sam Jenkins. But, reigning Defensive MVP (C) Bryant Picone is still the biggest man on the floor and HYP has limited low-post scoring options, which means they'll have to get out in transition and make jump shots to win.
X-FACTOR: Cheung in his one game of action has given NYF another dimension, a versatile player with near-big man size. He hasn't found the scoring touch yet but he's already strong on the offensive boards and on D. HYP (F) Mamadou Hanne has kept HYP in every game they have played with D, all-around play and just flat out hustle. -- Jeff Van Ghandi

Match-Up
(G) Alex Cho
A
B
(G) Leon Chu
Cho is on fire right now, the hottest guard in the league so Chu will have is hands full. If anyone is an able defender, he's it.
(G) Joe Kim
A

(G) Ian Yu
The MVPs of the last 2 seasons, that should say it all. Kim is the more polished all around player but Yu has nearly unmatched speed.
(F) Will Cheung

(G) Sam Jenkins
Cheung is still figuring out his place but he is versatile and is an impact without the ball. Jenkins might be the league's best shooter.
(F) Rich Chang
B+
B
(F) Amin Gillespie
Chang is every good center's best sidekick right now. Gillespie is one the league's most powerful players and strongest defenders.
(C) Bryant Picone
A+

(C) Howard Chu
Picone is a shutdown paint, like last season. Chu has struggled with the size in the BLUE but HYP needs his touch around the rim.
BENCH

BENCH
The NYF bench has a former Def MVP, a legit scorer and a rookie big. HYP has some solid all-around players who could just as easily start, like (F) Mamadou Hanne.

This morning I got a answering message from 972-284-0600 and was pretty sure the call was a scam.
I'm so sick and tired of promotional calls - I decided to complain to the Gulf Coast Western and yell.
Anyway, I feel like such a fool Gulf Coast Western -an Oil drilling corporation- called to approve my job application - apparently I got the job!
How can I fix this???

So I complained and contacted the gov and screamed at the top of my lungs.
Anyway... Gulf Coast Western -an Oil drilling corporation- was calling me back to approve my job application - apparently I got the job!
Any advice or help on how I can fix the complaint - and get the job?!!!

This is the most talent I have seen in Fastbreak nyc ever. You guys are doing a really good job it keeps getting better every season.
It should be little surprise for those who saw Watson play two games in the RED league. This was the reason he was forced to move up to the BLUE league. 20-20 in his first game and two of the nastiest dunks in this league's short history. RU: James Li (CRB) 22 pts, 8-8 FGs, 4-4 3FGs
Alex Cho (NYF) G | 5-9 | 155 lbs Week 3 Stats PPG: 22.0 RPG: 2.0 APG: 5.0
In two games and two wins, the Fury's "Smooth Criminal" has been their most consistent scorer. Against the NYC Quicks, Cho hit the big shots along with silent killer (G) Joe Kim as they both dropped 20 pts, the first tandem to do so this season.
Runner-Up: Joe Kim (NYF) 25 pts, 4 rebs, 2 stls
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers
Len Kamdang (AOD) 11 rebs, 4 asts
Lenny got it done with his floor game in Wk 3, leading his team in rebs, asts, stls and blks. Can't ask for anything more, except maybe a 3.
Runner-Up: Nick Watson (FAS) 20 rebs, 2 blks
Defensive Player of the Week
Bryant Picone (NYF) 10 rebs, 4 stls
Picone just shuts down the paint and it isn't always with blocked shots. Vs. the Quicks, he sealed off the entry lanes and picked off 4 passes.
Runner-Up: A. Stewart (QIK) 8 rebs, 2 stls, 3 blks
The High-5 Club Will Cheung (NYF) 6-6-3-2-1 Nic Echevestre (FAS) 2-9-2-4-1 Ezra Hoover (QIK) 7-9-1-2-3 Len Kamdang (AOD) 4-11-4-3-2 Danny Lung (CRB) 2-6-1-1-1 Nick Watson (FAS) 21-20-2-1-2
Discorama Rookie of the Week Aaron Fisher (AOD) 22 pts, 8 rebs
The AOD big man was just tenacious on the offensive boards and looked like a man among boys against CRB. His best yet, expect more.
Runner-Up: M. Hanne (HYP) 11 pts, 3 asts, 2 stls
The "John Starks" Award James Li (CRB) | 8-8 FGs (1.000)
Forget the "John Starks," we're doing opposites today. We're honoring CRB (F) James Li's perfect game. 8-8 FGs 4-4 3FGs and 2-2 FTs. Awesome.
Dishonorable Mention: Howard Chu (HYP) 1-8 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award Alex Cho (NYF) | 10-11 FTs (.909)
In the spirit of opposites, we honor NYF (G) Alex Cho who scored 10 of his 22 pts from the line. Just one FT short of perfection.
Dishonorable Mention: Leon Chu (HYP) 3-6 FTs

If you dont start and step up for your team hyp is doomed. You should be leading the league in points, rebounds and steals hands down, what happend to the old Mama? The one before 40 cal, if I'm not mistaken you used to shoot more than you pass and now your taking 11 shots a game? You better step up.

Thanks for the endorsement famz but Leon is in better shape then me. I'm just starting to get my wind back, all I want to do is help my team win. There's no I in team.

Leon actually did the only decent job on Ren in that game, he only scored 5 on Leon. He scored 15 of his 20 on the combination of Ian and Sam Jenkins. But then again, Leon dedicated his whole game to defense. It was enough for them to win though.
Rockets forever.
Feb 28 2010 12:09 AM
Have you seen the stat sheet dude? I only attended 2 out of the 3 games hyp played and I have not seen him do anything you said he does yet this season. Leon is good but He folds when the comp level rises. Better player in the fall, maybe they should move him down a level in the spring. If you start him against guys like Ren, Joe, Alex etc etc he's going to get killed everytime in fact i didn't see the hyp vs quicks game but I'm pretty sure Ren lit him up.

whoever u are...leon is an asset to the team he brings his defense and does tha intangibles that you can't teach like reboundings, steals, aggressiveness, hustle etc.

I changed my championship prediction to Fury Vs Agents. Nic Watson is a beast lol, he beat the hyp by himself, hyp can still make it to the championship but they cant play the way they played saturday. Howie only had 2 points, you cant start and score only 2 points, Leon is doing absolutly nothing, bench him and start Mama. I think Mama might be the key to making the hyp go.

Quicks go cold in 4th as Fury runs away
MLK HS, NYC -- Despite its top-billing, this highly anticipated match-up between the NYC Quicks and the defending champion NYC Fury got off to but a lukewarm start. These aren't the same two teams that met each other in the 2K9 FALL Semifinals, one that saw QIK lose to the short-handed Fury in disappointing fashion. Both teams this season are still adjusting to new personnel and perhaps as a result, they came out sluggish as the 12-8 1st qtr should attest. By the 2nd period, however, at least the offense was picking up the pace.
QIK scored 23 pts in the 2nd qtr, tying a team season-high set in Wk 1 while the Fury kept pace with 18 pts to go into halftime down(more...)

re: Jordan wasn't
Feb 23 2010 3:39 PM
Well, in that case under your logic, we'll have to asterisk every championship anyone has ever won that Michael Jordan didn't play. So, every championship before '84 and since '03-'04 doesn't really count. They should all have asterisks.
