(1) Team Elite vs. (2) Airbending Ninjas | Wednesday (9/8) 10:00pm @ Chinatown YMCA
KEY PLAYERS
M. Gilliard 19.5 ppg 12.8 rpg 1.5 apg 2.0 spg 1.0 bpg
M. Rios 18.2 ppg 7.5 rpg 1.5 apg 1.2 spg 0.3 bpg
SCOUTING REPORT: Team Elite looked very solid against the undersized ISS Flightz but then, few teams can match ELI's size and athleticism. The Ninjas are not one of them. Both (F) George Suttles and former D-I shooter (C) Martin Gilliard would probably play on the perimeter in another league which means they bring a lot of versatility to the paint for Elite. (G) James Choi, like his name-sake in the OCC, is having a career season while (G) Jason Chin has steadily provided support from range and as the setup man.
The Ninjas got down to business last night, dismantling the upstart DB Airballers, dispelling any illusions of a Cinderella run. Make no mistake, the Ninjas are the defending champs. They are focused and very deep. Thee guards are fast and committed to swarming defense while (G) Virgil Borbo (6 3FGs last night). ABN's front-court is small but versatile and anchored by 6-5 behemoth (C) Pat Pilar who is looking very spry right now. Forget the seeding, this is still the team to beat in the ORC.
Team Elite

Airbending Ninjas
Advantage
(G) Jason Chin
B+
B
(G) Wilson Lew
Chin has been steady as ELI's set up man and can still knock down big shots. Lew can be described similarly but has perhaps bigger impact on the bench as player coach.
(G) James Choi
A
B
(G) Joe Chin
Choi is the littlest shooting guard in the RED until you see Chin. Both are quick, both can score despite Chin still trying to find a rhythm on offense. As mentioned, Choi is red hot.
(G) Elitar Kim
B-
B+
(F) Joel Capili
Despite his size, Kim will provide some solid D and if he can get his 3 to fall, he will help his team. Capili has been quiet this season but he isn't a defending Def MVP for nothing.
(F) George Suttles
B+
A
(F) Mark Rios
As the new addition, Suttles tends to lay low but is highly efficient. Rios is the Ninjas best bonafide scorer right now. The lefty can fill it up from any spot on the floor.
(C) Martin Gilliard
A+
A
(C) Pat Pilar
Gilliard will finally face a man his own size in this match-up and he'll get to put his inside outside game to the test. Pilar hasn't played much this season but looks sharp.
BENCH (G) Rich Kwon (F) Jon Lopez (F) Sam Nam
B
A
BENCH (G) Virgil Borbo (G) Ant Lee (G) Wai Ming Pun (F) Tully Avilla (F) D. Sohn
Lopez is a starter in reserves' clothing and he can carry ELI in stretches. Beyond that, the ELI bench offers good hustle in limited min. The Ninjas simply have the deepest bench in the RED. Borbo may be the most dangerous player on the court at any time and Avilla, Sohn, Pun and Lee can all get it done.

2K10 SUM Playoff Preview - SEMIFINALS
FBNYC, 9.8.10
SEMIFINALS
(1) DB Low Stars vs. (2) Pizza Hut Buffet | Wednesday (9/8) 9:00pm @ Chinatown YMCA
KEY PLAYERS
J. Choi 18.2 ppg 3.4 rpg 3.8 apg 2.4 spg 2.0 tpg
B. O'Neill 12.0 ppg 12.8 rpg 2.8 apg 1.8 spg 3.2 bpg
SCOUTING REPORT: It's no secret by now what the Low Stars bring to the table. They have a very talented trio of guards, (G) James Choi, (G) Mike Kim and (G) Danny Lee, all of which can rotate 1, 2, or 3 and they are backed up by two very solid bigs in the front-court, (F) Scott Schwarmann and (C) AK Tewary. They shoot well and they shoot a lot. And, with Schwarmann and Tewary in the paint, they can afford to take a lot of chances on defense. They aren't the no. 1 ranked team going in the post-season by default.
The Huts do little that's flashy, save for occasional highlight dunks and volleyball spikes from (C) Brian O'Neill. PHB grinds it out and wins it late on defense. O'Neill may be the single most dominant force in the league and when he gets offense to go with his D, the Huts are a tough beat. (F) Dave Liu will carry them on offense while (G) Scott Yoon and (G) Taro Inoue will provide long-range support. The rest of the cast provides all the little things that make this team the defending summer champs.
DB Low Stars
GR
GR
Pizza Hut Buffet
Advantage
(G) Mike Kim
B+
B
(G) Andrew Tu
Kim has been taking a back seat to the red hot Choi and versatile Lee but he can turn it on at any point. Tu has added a little range to his game but still gets it done on D.
(G) James Choi
A+
B+
(G) Scott Yoon
There is no (G) in the league playing better than Choi right now. 'Nuff said. Yoon is in his best season yet, shooting well and stretching the defense for Liu and O'Neill.
(G) Danny Lee
A
B
(F) Chris Seerveld
Lee and Seerveld have similar functions for their respective teams contributing a bit of everything but Lee has the more explosive scoring ability.
(F) S. Schwarmann
B+
A
(F) Dave Liu
The rookie Schwarmann has been a presence in the paint for LOW, he finishes well and changes shots, the Stars couldn't ask for more. Liu is having an All-Star caliber season and will have to be focused on.
(C) AK Tewary
B+
A+
(C) Brian O'Neill
The paint looks awful small with Schwarmann and Tewary in the there, both big time shot blockers but the one guy who can overpower them is O'Neill. He'll need a big game here.
BENCH (G) Chris Kim (G) Chris Choi (F) AJ Naik (F) Bada Hong
B
B+
BENCH (G) Taro Inoue (G) James Lam (F) Keith Stec (F) S. Schroeder (F) R. Dutta
LOW gets solid minutes from their bench, especially from scorer Choi and Hong. The Huts' reserves make them a deep squad as Lam and Inoue could easily start while Stec, Schroader and Dutta sound like a law firm but no group hustles more to the ball.
