Fastbreak NYC 2K10 SPR Game of the Week MLK HS, NYC -- Early in the season, the buzz throughout the league was that the 2K10 SPR season was a two-horse race between the Bang Bros. and Sex Panthers. SXP won their first 2 gms by 35+ pts and BAG looked equally dominant. A few injuries and a couple of surprising losses later, things have changed, but not enough to keep this from being the marquee match-up of the week.

INSIDE THE STATS BAG (C) Rich Chang has topped 14 pts in each of his four 2K10 SPR games but this is the first time he has reach double-digit rebounds. This is his first double-double of the season.
SXP (G) Alex Cho wrapped up a solid weekend by scoring 20+ pts in all three different league games. His 23 pts here was a season-high and the 2nd straight game he's reached 20.
Nevertheless, you had two teams coming off tough losses, dealing with injuries and hoping to get back on track. BAG struck first, jumping out to a 20-10 1st qtr lead. (C) Rich Chang knew exactly how to attack the soft SXP interior. Chang often scored against through doubles, letting everyone hear it. Meanwhile, front-court mate, (F) Jason Chan was quietly dominating on the boards.
The Panthers, however, came firing back in the second, with a 15-4 quarter, part of which Chang sat out. SXP (G) Alex Cho (20 pts, 6 rebs) led the way, finally finding a groove after a rough 1st qtr. As much as Chang looked unstoppable in the paint, Cho was flat out unguardable from the perimeter. SXP took a 1-pt advantage into halftime. Through 3 qtrs, the lead remained the same as both Cho and Chang carried their respective teams. In the 4th, the defense intensified for both teams. The Panthers built as much as a 4-pt lead midway through the 4th looking in control but a (G) Danny Lee 3FG put BAG right back in it.
Tied 44-44, the ball ended up in BAG's new acquisition (G) Michael Yeh's hands. Though he had been quiet, he lined up a 3FG to take the lead. Cho came swooping from the paint to block the shot but Yeh chased down the loose ball and threw up a 10-footer just as the shot-clock expired, giving BAG their first lead of the 2nd half. After a driving attempt by Cho was blocked by Chan, Yeh found himself at the line. He made 1-of-2 to put BAG up 3 with :20 secs left. Cho dribbled up and went left, pulling up for a 3. Chan blocked his attempt yet again. Chang gathered in the rebound and was forced to the line. After making only 2 of his first 7 FTs, he calmly sank both to secure the win. -- "Scoop" Jack Sun
