WET (G) Elitar Kim's 15 pts and 3 3FGs are both season-highs. Kim has reached double digits in both of his team's two games.
MLK HS, NYC -- The Bang Bros significantly flexed their muscles in a 64-45 victory over a team coming off a 20-pt win over OCC finalists BBC. For their part, Team Wet played with only 5 players and kept the game close early. But, as they appeared to tire, BAG jumped quickly with what's become their signature pressure defense and took control of the game.
BAG was led by captain (C) Rich Chang and (G) Terry Huang, Jr. (11 pts, 7 rebs), but had solid contributions up and down their roster. (G) Jeff Li was everywhere on the court and it showed stat sheet-filling 8 pts, 6 asts, 4 stls and 4 reb. Almost every player on their team had at least one rebound and an assist.
The Bang Bros play physically, which seemed to be Team Wet's style last week. In this, BAG beat WET at their own game, dominating the boards and protecting the paint. But, not only that, Bang just out-hustled the short-handed Wet. With no play more indicative than in the 2nd half when one of the Huang brothers lay out flat diving attempting to intercept a pass.
Team Wet struggled to gain much offensive flow. Captain (G) Elitar Kim was able to make some 3FGs late but needed 19 shots to gain his 15 points. (F) Christopher Choi, who scored 19 in his debut, found less room for open shots against the frenetic Bros backcourt and struggled to control the ball. He tallied only 8 pts on 3-9 FGs and 4 TOs. (C) Kevin Nam, who should be a solid contributor in the paint this season, also chipped in with 13 pts and 8 rebs. Wet closed to within 12 in the 4th, but no closer. -- "Scoop" Jack Sun
