The 2nd qtr was much of the same, except with TOs. Neither team took care of the ball which lead to easy baskets on both ends. FCL (C) Stevely Koshy (game-high 4 blks) effectively shut down the paint and made it very difficult for BZB to get anything going down on the low block. However, BZB was finally able to string some baskets towards the end of the half and were able to generate some space between FCL. BZB (G) Cody Le found brother BZB (G) Vicmor Le several times in transition for easy, easy buckets, and BZB held a 7 pt lead going into the half.
FCL came out firing in the 3rd qtr. Several 3FGs from Koshy and teammate (G) Sherwin Oomen helped close the gap. But, almost on queue, BZB answered with their own flurry of 3FGs from the Le brothers and Iledan. It wasn't until the 2nd half when BZB (F) Ray Moore's impact could really be felt. Putting aside the frustration from the first half, he utilized his athleticism and crashed the boards hard.
The start of the 4th qtr spelled disaster for the Clubbers. FCL, again, was very careless with the ball, and unfortunately, BZB was not. Le got out in transition again but this time he found Moore. And if it wasn't in transition, Moore scored off the dribble or as a recipient of Le's penetration. While the TOs on the stat sheet do not favor any team, the timing of them were crucial. They disrupted the flow of FCL's offensive and gave BZB easy opportunities which they rarely fail to capitalize on. BZB never let off the pedal and virtually built all of its 19 pt lead in the 4th qtr bringing home their first victory of the season. -- "The Jet"
