About Us

THE DYNASTY LEAGUE – PLAYING FOR A CAUSE

The Dynasty League (formerly known as Fastbreak NYC) started in 20o4 as a community-based recreational basketball league. In 2012, the league partnered with The Dynasty Project to create an innovative way to give back to inner city youth by creating, funding, and providing volunteers for actual working programs that TDL members help fund simply by playing the sport they love.

A portion of all league fees received by TDL go directly to help fund The Dynasty Project’s community-based youth programs in Chinatown and the Lower East Side.

In over a decade, TDL has evolved to become of one of New York City’s most innovative recreational sports leagues. There is really nothing else like it once you try it. Our goal is to provide the most immersive and enjoyable basketball experience in the city, while promoting social action, and using our resources to provide quality sports programs for needy youth in the inner city.

THE DYNASTY PROJECT – WE RUN AS ONE

The Dynasty Project’s biggest program is the “We Run As One” summer youth basketball league (aka WRAO). Now in its 5th year, WRAO is an organized, community-based league for youth primarily in the communities of Chinatown and the Lower East Side.

This program was created not only to foster cultural exchange in what can be a segregated community, but it is provided free to youth who may not otherwise be able to afford it.

Run in partnership with Apex For Youth and PS 1 Alfred E. Smith Elementary, WRAO encourages local businesses to get involved by sponsoring teams. Local non-profit orgs and clubs such as Immigration Social Services, Asian American Youth Center, Charles B. Wang Foundation, NY Rockits AIA, NY Falcons, Lunar NYC Warriors, NY Titans, NY Cruisers, and LES Express are all integral to the success of this program.

WRAO simply could not be possible without all of the volunteers who donate their time all summer long; many of them from right here at TDL.
